Friday 6th March, 2009 IPI wins Open Innovation Award at Yorkshire and Humber Innovator 09

At the prestigious Yorkshire and Humber Innovation Awards – Innovator 09 – the IPI collected the “Open Innovation Award”.

The importance of Open Innovation was recognised through the sponsorship of this award by the Technology Strategy Board.

Nominees for the Open Innovation award are recognised as progressive organisations who compliment their products, processes and services with external sources of knowledge such as universities and research organisations to generate new ideas and solutions.

The three finalists in this category were:

*The Institute of Pharmaceutical Innovation

*Intelligensys Ltd

*Piramal Healthcare

The Yorkshire & Humber Innovation Awards, launched in March 2008 by Yorkshire Forward with key regional and national supporters, celebrate and reward the amazing innovation and creativity in the region’s businesses and universities in six categories.

This year’s awards received a record number of nominations, highlighting the sheer amount of innovative work going on in our region. The awards ceremony on 5th March 2009 gave recognition to the most deserving examples.
