Tuesday 24th October, 2006 IPI to host 2nd Yorkshire and Humber CEO Networking Event - 16th November 2006

The IPI is hosting a high profile regional networking event on 16th November 2006.
The purpose of the event is to provide a forum in which senior executives from regional pharmaceutical and bioscience companies can meet with contemporaries to exchange ideas, explore potential synergies and meet representatives of large pharma companies from outside the region. The last event was a notable success and led to several new collaborative projects being initiated.

The event will be held in the Institute of Pharmaceutical Innovation (IPI) at the University of Bradford. The IPI is developing a growing reputation as a centre for research in drug development and is an accredited Centre of Industrial Collaboration.

The evening’s hospitality will commence with wine and canapés at 6pm. This will be followed by a dinner and presentations from invited speakers on the theme of INTERACTING WITH BIG PHARMA.

Invited speakers include:-

Tim Sparey – Merck Sharp and Dohme: Tim is UK Director for Biotech Contact and has a wealth of experience in collaborative and licensing deals from the Big Pharma perspective.

Steve Jones – Syntopix: Steve is currently COO with Syntopix and previously worked at GSK and has experience from both sides of the licensing process.

Peter Harrison – Walker Morris: Before turning to law, Peter gained a PhD in Pharmacology and now uses his scientific understanding to advise a growing list of pharmaceutical and biotech clients about IP protection and deal structuring.
Our aim is to provide a forum where all interested parties can meet, in a congenial atmosphere, to discuss real issues, seek practical solutions and influence positive change.
