Thursday 19th June, 2008 New Interdisciplinary Chair in Pharmaceutical Engineering Science appointed

Professor Anant Paradkar has accepted the Interdisciplinary Chair in Pharmaceutical Engineering Science position and is due to start in September 2008.

This is a unique role that requires the appointed person to lead research programmes at the interface between pharmaceutical science and
advanced materials engineering, in the design of new drug carriers and release systems, as well as in the development of novel delivery devices.

Prof. Paradkar’s role will involve working with colleagues in both the IPI Research Focus Group and the Polymer IRC.

Thursday 12th June, 2008 Professor Duncan Craig to deliver seminar at IPI

Professor Duncan Craig, Head of Pharmacy from University of East Anglia will be presenting a seminar entitled;

“Hot tips: thermal imaging of pharmaceuticals on a nanoscale”

On Wednesday June 18th at 2pm in the IPI conference room, 2.11

Professor Craig is head of Pharmacy, School of Chemical Sciences and Pharmacy at the University of East Anglia. His research focusses on the study of drug delivery systems, developing dielectric analysis as a novel pharmaceutical tool, working in collaboration with Professor Robert Hill (Department of Physics and Mathematics, Kings College, University of London).

Thursday 5th June, 2008 Realising the China opportunity seminar to be held at IPI

Realising the China Opportunity: A Practical Guide to Successful Innovation in the Chinese Healthcare Industry.

This seminar aims to make it easier for innovators to forge links with China, to identify key organisations and stakeholders who can support the innovation process, to identify sources of funding, to manage collaborations and intellectual property, and ultimately to successfully access the Chinese healthcare market.
