85% of IPI Research of International Quality
The recent 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) in the UK has confirmed the research strengths of the Institute of Pharmaceutical Innovation. Assessing the quality of publications and other outputs, the research environment and esteem, 85% of research in the IPI was judged to be of international standard and above. More than half of all research in the IPI was judged to be internationally excellent or world-leading.
Commenting on the performance of the IPI in the 2008 RAE , the Institute’s Principal Scientist Professor Peter York said: “This is a strong performance by the IPI team, and shows we are making great progress in our science and innovation activities. The RAE 2008 results reflect outstanding research strengths in the Institute, in predictive pharmaceutics, analytics and drug delivery. It is pleasing too to see recognition of many of the activities which make the IPI an innovation institute, committed through its partners and contacts with industry to translating strong science into better medicines for the benefit of patients world-wide.”
