Interacting with the IPI

The IPI offers flexible mechanisms of engagement which allow clients to choose how to achieve their business or research goal. Our mechanisms of engagement include:

Contract research

The majority of our interactions with industrial clients are via contract research. The research is performed within the IPI and the process is project managed to ensure delivery of results. These projects (in common with our other offerings) are performed under conditions of strict confidentiality.

Consultancy

Our expert consultants are able offer their knowledge and expertise to help to solve various problems faced by our clients. They are able to review data, produce expert reports and organize problem solving workshops.

Collaborative research

Fundamental problems are best tackled via collaborative research programmes. Options to facilitate these interactions include industry sponsored PhDs and Postdoctoral Positions, CASE awards and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships. We seek to advance the field of drug development and transfer this expertise to industry.

Industry Interest Groups

The IPI is also the hub of the AIIG (Artificial Intelligence Industry Group), an international consortium of multinational and regional pharmaceutical companies, working together with IPI computational formulation scientists to exploit artificial intelligence in optimising drug development. We are currently setting up a new interest group focussed in Crystal Nucleation (CNIG).

Software

The IPI is working with industrial partners to develop of a family of software products designed to aid in formulation, knowledge management and processing decisions. Access to this software is available through our team of expert developers as a consultancy service or for in-house installation of expert systems.

Training

Our team includes a range of experienced HE teachers and industrial training consultants. The IPI provides bespoke training programmes for individuals and groups. The Academic Seminar Series in the IPI aims to link front-line research with industry. We are able to offer expert training in the formulation, analysis and process optimisation. If you have any specific training requirements please contact us and we will be happy to tailor a course to meet your needs.
